Independence Day Patriotic Concert and Ice Cream Social

Maple City Band (MCB) is marking its 111th concert season during the 2017 Summer Concert Season. Composed entirely of volunteers, MCB’s musicians range from high school students, college students, working adults, and retirees. MCB finances its operation through free-will offerings made during its July 4th ice cream social and sales of advertising in the concert programs. July 4th is the one concert that benefits MCB. The other four concerts performed by MCB during the Summer are in support of other community organizations.

This concert and ice cream social are straight from a Norman Rockwell painting of a small-town Independence Day celebration. The scene is surrounded by over 700 US Military Service Memorial Flags flying around and through Geneseo’s City Park (140 W Pearl St.); known as The Aisle of Flags.

The ice cream social starts at 11:00 AM and ends at 2:00 PM. The concert begins at 1:00 PM.
