Western Illinois Wind Band Concert

The Western Illinois Wind Band will perform their final concert of Season #7 on May 16 at 7 pm in the Avon Grade School All Purpose room. This ensemble is made up of 36 musicians from throughout West Central Illinois and is directed by Bernie Potter. The public is encouraged to attend and a free will offering will be taken up.
The concert will include several marches by Henry Fillmore, John Philip Sousa, James Ployhar, Percy Grainger, and Warren Barker, Folk songs from different countries, ballads by Dean Howard, David Holsinger, and Jacob De Haan, familiar Hymns, and Patriotic music of America. Guest soloists for the evening include Jeana Fors on Baritone Sax playing Forty Fathoms, Brett Fisher on trumpet, playing That Old Time Religion, and Sue Adams vocalist on God Bless America.
Membership to the Western Illinois Wind Band is open to all interested band musicians who are able to attend the Tuesday evening rehearsals and concerts. All events are at 7 pm.
