Around 4:00 this morning, Galesburg Police were dispatched to Hy-Vee on National Boulevard for a suspicious incident. Police met with a male employee who said he was working in the back of the store when he heard a loud noise coming from the front of the store. A second employee told police he was cleaning in the front of the store when he looked up and realized he just made eye contact with three masked men in the dining room area. The employee said he then ran away from the three men, but looked back and saw them “take off towards the kitchen area.” The three suspects departed through a side door, entered a white vehicle and drive off northbound on Henderson Street. Officers cleared the store and didn’t notice anything damaged or broken. The employees told police the three suspects must have departed the same way they got in. At the time of the police report, officers were awaiting security footage from the incident. The three suspects were described as three black men in their early 20’s wearing dark clothing. The incident remains under investigation.
