What an amazing day this year’s Polar Plunge turned out to be! We had Ice over a foot thick, we had snow the morning of, we had water temps about 2600 degrees below zero (well, not really, but it sure felt that way!), and then in the end we had sun glorious sun!

Over 360 plungers came out to raise well over $52,000 for Special Olympics Illinois! That is by far the most plungers EVER to hit the beach at Lake Storey for this amazing annual event! Some came in costume, some didn’t, heck some came in almost nothing at all but one thing was common to everyone there… the desire to throw themselves in a frozen lake for the benefit of the Special Olympic athletes! Special Olympics charges absolutely nothing for these athletes to participate in the games, so without the help of warm-hearted individuals like you, none of it would be possible… and for that we here at FM 95 say thank you! Thank to all those that took the plunge, thank you to all those that donated, and thank you to all the athletes for being a shining example of what we can do when we follow our hearts!

Please enjoy the photos and video, and again thank you for make 2015 such a fun and successful Polar Plunge!
